Hi. My name is Seong Taek, Lim
I did summury about Grand Canyon.
Grand Canyon is located in the state of Arizona. It was made by water from the Colorado River. But it was not a short time. It took several billion years to be the shape of these days.
It is 277 miles (446 km) long and up to 15 miles (24 kilometers) wide.
Furthermore, some parts of the Grand Canyon are one mile (1.6 km) deep. It is deepest canyon in the world as well.
Grand Canyon became a National Park in 1919, and it was on UNESCO's World Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1979.
Watching the canyon along the rim of valley is very exciting. You are safe. Because there is a railing that can protects you not to fall.
Not only you can see the Grand Canyon’s great shape by walking or using mules, but also you can use a light airplane to watch the canyon in the sky.

Watching the canyon on the “skywalk” is very exciting. You are safe unless you won’t try to suicide. Because there is a railing that can protects you not to fall.
The bottom of the skywalk is glass. Although I’m not there(I’m just seeing the picture), I can feel creepy as I’m on there. Therefore, you must be brave if you want to go there.

why Theodore Roosevelt preserved Grand Canyon.
President Theodore Roosevelt visited the Grand Canyon in 1903.
After that, he was amazed by Grand Canyon.
Therefore, he began his own campaign to preserve the canyon and surrounding area.
In addition to Roosevelt wanted to protect Grand Canyon for escendant that can see it eternality.
As a result of, signed the "Act for the Preservation of American Antiquities," also known as the
Antiquities Act or the National Monuments Act, on June 8.

The Grand Canyon is border of the Colorado River in Arizona. It is National Park, therefore it was one of the first national parks in United States.
One the one hand the principal consensus among geologist in that the Colorado river basin was developed 40 million years ago, whereas the origins of the canyon began approximately 17 million years ago. On the other hand the first exploration reported was in September 1540, under orders from the conquistador Francisco Vazquez de Coronado. Afterwards, Europeans did not visit the canyon for over two hundred years.
Although Grand Canyon has federal protection, the administrators have had many problems, like reintroduction into the wild of California condor which is danger of extinction unless the government takes care of them.
There are several historical buildings located along the south rim, most of them are in Grand Canyon Village and thus Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most important natural attractions in U.S.A.
